Peacock has set 15 October for the premiere of Crystal Lake, the Friday the 13th prequel series.
Details are scarce for the show. Crystal Lake will be an eight episode series, released weekly on Peacock. Linda Cardellini (Freaks and Geeks) will star as Pamela Voorhees. Callum Vinson plays a young Jason Voorhees.
Crystal Lake is created by Brad Caleb Kane, the writer behind, Fringe, Tokyo Vice and It: Welcome to Derry. Kane is also the singing voice of Aladdin from the hit Disney franchise of the same name.
“It’s a paranoid ’70s thriller. It has all of the DNA of a slasher without quite being a slasher. There are rivers of blood in the show. There are very, I think, ingenious kill sequences and deaths and murders, but it’s all done in service of character and theme and place and time.”
Filming on the series wrapped in October 2025. Crystal Lake is produced by A24 Production and will air on Peacock in the US and Sky Atlantic in the UK and Ireland.
Stay tuned for more updates as they are released…
